What's Involved

EV Charger Installation

A Level 2 charger runs on a 240-volt circuit, and doing it right is more than screwing a box to the garage wall. We run a dedicated circuit sized for the charger, check that your panel and service can carry the added load, and put in a proper breaker — hardwired or on a NEMA 14-50 outlet, whichever your charger and your setup call for.

If your panel is already full or your service is undersized, we'll tell you straight and fold the panel work into the quote instead of surprising you later. We handle home installs, and we do multi-unit and workplace charging for commercial customers too.

Questions

EV Charger Installation FAQ

Do I need to upgrade my panel for an EV charger?

Sometimes. A Level 2 charger is a big continuous load, so we run a load calculation on your existing service. If there's room, we just add the circuit. If your panel is full or the service is undersized, we'll quote the panel work alongside it so you know the full picture before we start.

Hardwired or plug-in outlet?

Both work. A NEMA 14-50 outlet gives you flexibility to unplug and take the charger with you; hardwiring is cleaner for a permanent install and required for some higher-output units. We'll match it to your charger and your garage.

Do EV charger installs need a permit?

Yes, a dedicated 240V circuit is permitted work. We handle the permit and inspection.
